Baiyun mountain
Baiyun mountain is also known as white cloud mountain is a beautiful place from where you can enjoy the view of the city. You can reach to the top through cable car and while returning you can even take a walk to the down to explore the beauty of the mountain and the beautiful temples and ponds on the way down.
Yuntai Garden
Just below the Baiyun mountain is Yuntai Garden. Floral paradise under Baiyun—peonies in spring, lotuses in summer.
Canton Tower
Visit Canton Tower at night to discover the astounding beauty of the tower. Glows like a sci-fi lotus—ascend for panoramic pods (180-250 CNY, ~$25-35 USD). New: World's highest Ferris wheel with AR city stories. Pair with a Pearl River cruise.
Pearl river
Just near Canton Tower is the Pearl river from where you can enjoy the view of the opposite side or you can even take a ride on river cruise to enjoy the city view at night.

Temple of six banyan trees
Originally built in AD537, it's one of the most famous Buddhist temples of Guangzhou.
Zhanxi Clock Market
On Zhanxi road, Yuexiu district, you can visit the famous Guangzhou watch market and even explore the clothes market nearby. If you are good at bargaining then you will get here almost everything from sunglasses to shoes. Watch fakes to luxury—sunglasses for 20 CNY.

Chimelong- If you've got some extra time then you can visit the Chimelong safari park, Chimelong paradise and Chimelong International circus which takes around 2 days to explore everything.
EXTRA TIPS:
Along with Hong Kong, you can even explore Shenzhen or Guangzhou which are nearby. Through high speed train it takes 30 minutes to reach Shenzhen and around an hour to reach Guangzhou.
You can also reach Shenzhen by road or through MTR from Hong Kong.
Use Alipay for seamless transit.
Google doesn't works in China, so I mostly used Apple maps for directions.
